John Berger - Writer and Novelist, art critic, painter and poet

A controversial commentator on cultural understanding. He wrote “Ways of Seeing” in 1972, which accompanied a TV series, which set out to challenge views held in the UK about art. Similar to Thomas Paine’s disenchantment and subsequent exodus to the US John Berger sought exile in France where he continues to write critically acclaimed books which observe the human condition.
